It’s Itself

Annex Dance Company announces the Piccolo Spoleto Festival premiere of It’s Itself, created in collaboration with visual artist and College of Charleston faculty member, Susan Klein. It’s Itself is a 45-minute work straddling themes of the spiritual world and the earthly world and questioning the desire to place lingual descriptions on dance and art. The choreography and art will both inhabit the performance space, allowing for connection, interaction, and manipulation of human and inanimate objects. The premiere of It’s Itself is the culmination of the company’s annual residency with the College of Charleston Department of Theatre and Dance, and will be performed by students and company members as part of the Festival’s Stelle di Domani Series at the Chapel Theatre (172 Calhoun Street) on June 7th at 7pm, June 8th at 2pm and June 8th at 6pm. Tickets are available through the Piccolo Spoleto Festival website: $16 (general admission); $12 (students and seniors) plus ticket surcharge.
