Salt in the Soil Virtual Premiere

The virtual release of our film Salt in the Soil will be this Sunday, December 13th at 7pm. Originally created for the stage in 2017, the company was planning to present the piece this Fall. Over the Summer, the uncertainty of live performance shifted the project into creating a dance film. Salt in the Soil focuses on sea level rise and the emergence of ghost forests. Reimagining it as a dance film allowed us to take the choreography to Botany Bay and capture the movement amongst the trees.

The Sunday evening premiere of the 12-minute dance film will be followed by a 7:30pm talkback via Zoom with Artistic Director Kristin Alexander, company member/performer Julie Clark, film director Niav Conty, and ecologist Clare Fieseler, who collaborated with Kristin in 2017 when the piece was first created.
